After showing both our peers and teacher the second cut of our production we got some good feedback which will help us improve the production even further to hopefully achieve a higher grade.
The feedback that we got for improving the production was:
- First dissolve doesn't work- To improve this we will have a look and experiment with different effects and hopefully find one that works.
- Zoom on stairs at train station isnt't needed- To improve this we will have to re-shoot the scene and not zoom in at the end as it is a bit jumpy. If we position the camera correctly we shouldn't have this problem
-Handheld/POV shot is too long- To improve this we will shorten the handheld shot by cutting away to the poker table to perhaps give the perspective of the other players when im entering
- 360 Degree shot isn't perfect- Even though this can potentially become one of our best shots, we still haven't mastered how to make this scene look as good as it can be. One of the ideas that we have is to get a rotating object (chair?) and put the camera on that and spin it, but this shot will be very challenging.
-Add more flashbacks/emphasis on character's financial position- We will add another flashback as we are now confident in what opacity we need to make it look good. Some ideas given to us have been the character going to withdraw money and not having any or finding a 'Final Warning' letter demanding money.
If we apply all these changes and possibly more if we feel necessary we are confident that we can achieve a 'B' grade at the end of our production. We have to ensure that after christmas we continue to put alot of effort into both our production and ancillary tasks in order to get a good grade.
